Hot Town, Summer in the City: Atlanta
I hope you all had a wonderful, restful 4th of July. We decided to escape embrace the heat in Atlanta. This city reminds me so much of LA — it might be the flip flops and the laid-back attitude, but I think it’s more likely all the traffic.
We spent the weekend visiting with family before Z’s sister goes off on a Peace Corps assignment in Cambodia (you can read about her exciting future exploits on Let the Wild Rumpus Start.) We grilled, watched some pretty impressive neighborhood fireworks — which we found out, rather unsettlingly for the safety-conscious, were homemade. We also caught a game at Turner Field, and practiced our cultural sensitivity with some Tomahawk chops (go Braves!). Good, all-American fun. Continue reading
